Summer Industry Course 2022 with DreamWorks Animation
"Forsaken" (Summer 2022)
SIC is a 10-week course hosted by the Viz Lab at A&M where select students work together to create an animated short film under the guidance of industry professionals from DreamWorks Animation. As the FX Lead and Animation Lead, I developed a procedural cobweb tool, dust tool, and paper tool in Houdini, and was head of Character Animation. I keyframe animated the doll, lamp, lamp strings, clock hands, and marionette strings in Maya. I modeled the marionette strings, spiderwebs, tin cans, beer bottles, Viz Logo, and ballpoint pens in Maya, and developed shaders for the cobwebs and strings in Renderman.

Capstone Project (Fall 2022)

In this project, I aimed to explore and research the intersections between choreography, 3D animation, and FX. The outcome of my research was the short film "Sleepless in the Stars". I learned advance keyframe animation techniques, cloth simulation, particle instancing, and fluid dynamics.

VIZA  613 Project (Fall 2021)

This class was my first introduction to the animation pipeline, and I hope to continue learning and improving. I keyframe animated the entire performance using Blender and my roommate and I's choreography as reference. This animation is still in the blocking stage and not polished/splined.  I modeled and simulated the tutu to make it stiff and bouncy. I created a simple particle system for the ending and procedurally created the wood texture in Blender.
